The new Trumbull and Porter is the latest of downtown Detroit hotels to renovate. It is fully embracing the unofficial motto of the city, to rebuild using the best contractors, artists, designers, staff, hard and soft goods suppliers, and more that Detroit has to offer. Nearly all the work and supplies for the $9 million project were sourced in Detroit.
The hotel’s management has created partnerships between other area businesses as well. Behind the Trumbull and Porter hotel Detroit is a courtyard that will find new life as a music and art venue. Downtown Detroit residents and visitors will be able to enjoy local bands in warm weather months in a casual lawn setting at the hotel. Soon the full-service Red Dunn restaurant and Burroughs Lounge will open, serving the area’s best food and drink. The renovation covered all aspects of the hotel including guest rooms, drinks and dining, fitness center and outdoor space. A spacious fitness center with an incredible city view is ready – helping to keep guests active. A beer garden, courtyard music venue, a private dining room (the Steak Room), and meeting space for smaller events will round out the hotel’s offerings. You won’t find anything “run of the mill” here. From the original mural created by celebrated Corktown artist Don Kilpatrick prominently above the porte cochère to the words of beloved Detroit poet David Blair on display in the lobby, this hotel is truly one-of-a-kind. Reserve your room today and be a part of our Detroit story.
